When people walk through our door, they have decided to treat themselves to delicious ice cream. When they walk out, we want them to feel confident in their decision for two reasons: high-quality, decadent ice cream, and genuine customer service from a team that truly knows how to make them feel valued. We are looking for energetic, friendly and detail-oriented scoopers who are ready to work hard while having fun! Come be a part of our team as we show customers what makes Sweet Science second to none - through the power of kindness and incredible ice cream.

We’re looking for friendly people who are ready to be a part of our energetic team. Aside from ice cream, our favorite thing is building community. We are proud to offer competitive wages, a fun work environment and plenty of ice cream!

Our ideal scooper:

  • Is 17 years of age or has completed their Junior year of high school (or older)

  • Can remain positive in a fast-paced, high volume & customer-first position for their entire shift

  • Can stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and stocking pails of ice cream

  • Can lift and carry 25 lbs

  • Has at least 3 days of open availability per week, which includes Saturdays and some holidays 

  • Is able to work closing/event shifts as late as 11pm

  • Is ready to provide consistent, world-class service to every customer

  • Is great with people and able to talk to just about anyone

  • Is smiling and ready to work cooperatively as we build community 

  • Is ready to learn and tell customers what sets Sweet Science Ice Cream apart 

  • Exemplifies teamwork, an eye for detail, a willingness to clean, abundant energy, and the desire to work in an upbeat, fast-paced environment

• Ice Cream Production Team - St. Paul, MN

General Description:
The production team completes all tasks to create our legendary ice cream. Sweet Science kitchen team members make and churn ice cream bases, make pastry and candy for inclusions, and make sauces and mix-ins. Our ideal kitchen staff have a positive attitude, and complete tasks with speed, efficiency and accuracy. Experience with pastry/baking in a commercial setting is preferred. Our team is expected to pay attention to detail, be hard working and flexible, and possess general commercial kitchen knowledge.

General Responsibilities:
• Cooking/churning ice cream and components
• Ensuring quality products are made by following recipes and procedures carefully and continually monitoring for quality assurance
• Taking care of maintenance and safety issues according to creamery tools (checklists, cleaning lists, and safety lists)
• Cleaning, dishes, supporting the daily work plans
• Being a positive asset who focuses on community with the other team members while making fabulous ice cream

Skills and Competencies:
• Experience with baking/pastry/cooking at commercial level
• An innate love for food to your work
• A high level of productivity and hard work
• A spirit of collaboration and support to the entire team
• An interest and passion for both the company and product
• Reliability and flexibility - ability to perform various tasks or projects as needed
• Experience in a professional kitchen
• Respect for safety and hygiene standards
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Hard working, efficient, positive attitude.
• Ability to consistently lift 20-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Desire to communicate and problem-solve collaboratively
