• Pastry Chef / Baker for Ice Cream Production (St. Paul)


General Description:
The production team completes all tasks to create our legendary ice cream--these include: making and churning ice cream bases, pastry-making and candy-making skills for inclusions, sauces and mix-ins. Our ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, complete tasks with speed, efficiency and accuracy. Ideal candidate will have experience with pastry/baking in commercial setting. Candidate will pay attention to detail, be hard working and flexible. Candidate will possess general commercial kitchen knowledge.

General Responsibilities:
• Cooking/churning ice cream and components
• Ensure quality products are served and no sub-par ice cream leaves the freezer
• Take care of maintenance and safety issues according to creamery tools (checklists, cleaning lists, and safety lists)
• Cleaning, dishes, supporting the daily work plans
• Contribute to creating an atmosphere of legendary ice cream and community

Skills and Competencies:
• Experience with baking/pastry/cooking at commercial level
• Bring an innate love for food to your work
• Demonstrate a high level of productivity and hard work
• Bring a spirit of collaboration and support to the entire team
• Demonstrate an interest and passion for both the company and product
• Reliable and being flexible to perform other tasks or projects as needed
• Experience in a professional kitchen
• Respect for safety and hygiene standards
• Strong verbal communication skills

• Able to consistently lift 20-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

• Labeling containers, prepping and staging ice cream ingredients
• Ensure quality products are served and no sub-par ice cream leaves the freezer
• Cleaning, dishes, supporting the pastry team in daily work plans
• Contribute to creating an atmosphere of legendary ice cream and community

• Retail Manager (Edina)

A Sweet Science Retail Manager will assist in the oversight of store operations & customer service. Additionally, the RM will support employee hiring, scheduling and management, food safety, inventory, regulatory compliance, reporting and store efficiency and optimization.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Owner / CEO the RM will recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach, and counsel Team Members

  • Leadership of a professional, FUN & positive Team Member and customer experience

  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations by following and enforcing food safety regulations

  • Foster and lead environment of sales driving in all channels to meet sales budgets and forecasts

  • Assist in compiling work schedules and reports

  • Ensure shop is in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations

  • Performs all Team Member job duties including scooping and other tasks to ensure great customer service

  • Enforce corporate policies and procedures

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and manage ice cream preparation and sales operations

  • Place purchase orders for supplies and associated products and support for the purchase or requisition of retail & food service equipment

  • Maintain recipes and portion control; maintain weekly and monthly reports as required.

  • Maintain and report temperature logs, receiving logs and packing lists, inventory control logs, sales and tip data

  • Report Human Resources or Customer incidents to Owner / CEO

 

Full-time: 32-40 hrs/wk, Compensation DOE.
